July & August Blog
July Blog
Hello to all my beautifully created image readers! I pray all of you are well. Can you guys believe we are halfway through the year? July is officially over! This is absolutely crazy the way time flies. I wanted to come to you all today and talk about a blessing that I almost missed out on by being complacent.
I heard a Pastor say there is a difference between contentment and complacency. I had never heard this before but here are some examples that were given, and these examples really resonated with me. Contentment is when you have a good attitude where you are. You are satisfied and at ease while you are improving. Complacency is being satisfied with where things are in your life, but not trying to improve or make situations in your life better, settling for average.
How many of my readers can agree that they have come to a point in their lives where complacency made you feel safe? Well, I know I have, and because of complacency I almost missed out on a huge opportunity that will create a better life for myself and my family. Sometimes in life improving or becoming a better version of yourself or taking on a whole new position can sometimes be scary, especially the older you get. The unknown can make you question yourself, what if I’m not good enough or what if I fail? I have always prided myself on jumping out in life and creating better opportunities and situations, making business moves, creating a better version of myself through GOD, therapy, and self-help books.
A few weeks ago, I was asked to step out and take a huge role in my company and I said no 3 times. What was I thinking to say no? I was thinking maybe I couldn’t do it or maybe I wasn’t good enough. The role I am presently in I can perform it with my eyes closed. This new role would require me to learn job duties that I have never done before. After much convincing and reassurance from the upper management that they were looking for me to be Lashondia and everyone believed in me, I mustard up enough courage to take on this new role, and I am so happy I did. In this new role I will make more money, I will take on new responsibilities, and I still get a chance to have an amazing attitude while doing so. I said to myself, what if you rocked this role all the way out instead of saying to myself maybe I might not be good enough. Then I said to myself, what if you are more than good enough and you shock everyone with your professionalism and go get ‘em attitude. Lol! This is the honest conversation I had with myself.
This blog is for me to share my true heart, my thoughts, life situations, and maybe just maybe I can help someone along the way. I want all of you to be encouraged. If there is something you have been wanting to do or go after but you have allowed complacency to stand in the way, it’s time take a stand. Talk to yourself and say anything encouraging from biblical verses like: I can do all things through CHRIST that strengthens me, or some positive affirmations: I am beautiful, I am enough, I am smart, I am successful. There are so many Biblical scriptures and positive affirmations that can counteract negative thoughts that can leave you in a state of complacency. So, to all my Beautifully Created Image readers, please know that it’s time for you to live in contentment. This will allow you to stay in a positive attitude while striving to become a better version of yourself spiritually, physically, emotionally, and financially. I love each one of you. August Blog
Hello to all my beautifully created image readers! What an amazing August this has been! I hope you all have had a good summer, as it comes to an end, and we prepare for fall. May I suggest you make the most of the end of summer. Let’s end it with a bang by finishing up some much-needed home repairs or cleaning our homes and buying some fall home décor. Maybe begin that book you’ve been wanting to start or finally finish. Maybe take a quick trip to see that loved one you’ve been meaning to see but you’ve been putting it off. Whatever it is, I want you to finish up this Summer with a bang.
As for me, I have been cleaning my home and making some much needed home repairs, working, and running my business, which has been quite a challenge, but I have decided to work hard and always be dedicated. Having a business is something that I have longed for.
This week as I prepared for family to come to town, I was in the process of deep cleaning my home and I ran across my old notebook organizer from 2007. Inside this organizer were written quotes referencing me wanting to start my own business. I had several different quotes from the name I wanted for my business, to products I wanted to use. I just kept writing inside this journal, “I want to run my own business,” “when I get my own business”, and “I cannot wait to have my very own business.” This made my heart overjoyed as I knew in that moment that I never gave up on my dream of having my very own business. Making women look and feel their very best was my mission. The fact that I never let anyone talk me out of this dream or take this dream away from me was the best feeling in the world.
I also remembered at that very moment the scripture, “faith without works is dead.” I always stayed working in some capacity of helping making women look and feel their very best, I worked in retail, on commercial sets, radio shows, fashion shows, even though I never had a stand-alone building, I was still working in some sort of capacity to keep my dream alive. Fast forward almost 20 years later from the time I received my Esthetician license. I am finally working inside of a building and it’s for myself, and I love it! GOD has given me the best clients in the world and when my clients enter my establishment, I give 100 percent every time, every service. My clients leaving with a smile on their faces means I have done my job!
Running my business never gets old and it does not feel like work. I want to encourage all of you if you have a dream a goal no matter how small or large it is, go after it. Never let anyone: spouse, mom, dad, children, family, friends, associates, or strangers take that away from you. I would love to hear some of your dreams or goals and how you are going to obtain them. Email me at beautifullycreatedimage@gmail.com
