Quarantine with Family

As my family and I are still home because Quarantine, I have learned some interesting facts from my adult son. As we were sitting in the living room last Friday evening, I had just finished a quick workout on my back porch. I walked into the house, music was playing inside the Livingroom, I took a seat on the couch and my family and I began to discuss the different songs that brought back memories. One of those memories discussed were from my adult son when a particular song played, he stated that when he was young he can remember all the good times that he and his Dad shared on Sunday afternoons as they drove to Best Buy to check out the latest video games and sometimes even playing games on the display console. He stated that even though they rarely purchased anything the fact that he and his Dad took the time to enjoy each other’s company meant so much to him. He began to tear up which made me tear up. I believe he teared up because those moments were priceless and meant so much to him. The fact that his favorite memories from his parents wasn’t all the times we purchased him every brand new video game console along with the collection of video games, it wasn’t even his new car when he turned 16, but his fondest memories were spending quality time with his Dad. Why am I writing this? Well sometimes we think our kids need to be bought with materialistic things to gain our love, but the fact remains, spending quality time with our kids will have a lasting effect on them throughout their adulthood. You see, providing for your kids is good and its essential, do not get me wrong, but we must never forget that true love and connection does not cost a thing. Listening to your kids, giving your kids lots of hugs and kisses are the things that your kids will remember, So the takeaway I want my readers to get from this blog post is to learn to spend quality time with your kid, Enjoy every moment spent with your kids and they will not forget. I want my readers to let me know me what are some interesting facts that you are learning from your kids or adult children during this Quarantine.
